Opportunities to help in school/Volunteering
Will I be able to share in school events and activities?
There are many opportunities for parents to participate in school activities and share special events. These include:
- Harvest Service and donation of harvest gifts
- Remembrance Day commemoration
- Christmas Festive Tea, Service and Nativity
- Leavers’ Service
- Sports Day and Picnic
- School Plays and concerts
- Easter Service
- Sports fixtures and clubs
- Class visits
- Curriculum events and special projects
- Curriculum/ learning information evenings and workshops
Can I help in school?
We encourage parents to help support learning in school and with after school clubs. Parents who help in school will agree times and what they will be doing with the class teacher.
If you would like to help in school but not directly with the children, please come and see us or complete the application form on the link below and return it to the office.
Randwick Volunteers Policy - Autumn 2021
To help keep everyone safe, parents or other volunteers can help in school or with other activities if they have DBS clearance. The school will cover the costs of this process and provide a visitor information booklet for all parents and volunteers.
Can I join a parent association to help the school?
Every parent is welcome to become a member of the Parents and Friends of the School (PFoRS) and is invited to attend meetings and join in events. There is a mixture of fundraising and social events throughout the year. Information is regularly sent out by PFoRS to our families regarding forthcoming events and ways to help and support the activities.
Will I have an opportunity to share my ideas about the school?
- School questionnaires
These are sent to parents annually and may ask for views on a range of proposals or how we are doing e.g. views on supporting swimming, ideas for parent workshops and questionnaires about parent’s perception of the school
