‘Children prosper, the pre-school ensures the best possible outcomes for children.’
Ofsted Inspection March 2012
Little Skylarks is an Ofsted approved community pre-school located in Randwick. It was established in 2010 and is run by Emma Cunningham, a qualified primary school teacher with over 20 years experience and specialist training in the Foundation Stage, including First Aid and Safeguarding.
Randwick is a beautiful hillside village on the edge of Stroud. Little Skylarks is located in the recently refurbished village hall, where there is ample parking. The hall is surrounded by large playing fields as well as a play park, which the children are able to take full advantage of. Facilities in the hall include a children’s toilet, disabled access and a modern fitted kitchen.
With a maximum of 18 children aged 3+, Little Skylarks has a friendly, family feel. Many of the parents enjoy helping on a rota basis. It has strong links with the local community and many of the children go on to Randwick C of E Primary School, however there is not requirement to do so.
Each week there is a free child yoga session provided by a qualified professional teacher, and on Thursdays the children have the opportunity to eat a hot lunch cooked on the premises. They even have their own Skylarks’ garden where they can grow their own veg!
All the children who attend Little Skylarks are eligible for the free nursery vouchers provided by the Government.
The hours are 9:00am to 1:00pm, Monday to Thursday, during school term time.
